HBA SUBMITS COMMENTS TO NEW JERSEY SENATE IN REGARDS TO SENATE BILL 4635

The Hemp Beverage Alliance submitted written testimony supporting S.4635, Senate President Scutari’s legislation that ties New Jersey’s sale authorization for hemp beverages to the federal compliance date. That date is December 11, 2026, or later if Congress extends it. Without the bill, licensed New Jersey retailers would have to stop selling on November 13, four weeks before federal law requires. The bill keeps the State’s existing potency, testing, and age-verification standards in place.

HBA also asked the Committee to make sure the State’s cutoff does not apply to beverages that remain lawful under any future federal framework.
