The Hemp Beverage Alliance submitted written comments to the Oregon Health Authority on its proposed changes to the state’s cannabis and hemp testing rules. Hemp beverages sold in Oregon are tested under these rules. HBA supports the Authority’s goals of consistent laboratory practice and accurate labeling.
HBA asked the Authority to keep the 10 percent potency tolerance that matches Oregon’s concentration limits, so ordinary lab variation in a single can does not fail a compliant batch. HBA also asked the Authority to extend its new target potency option to hemp products, and to treat a missed target as a labeling matter rather than a failed test.
